kids. She had her eyes on the the burger I was eyeing the nachos. See I've been craving nachos for weeks and either haven't been someplace where they were or couldn't decide where to go. So bring me some 'Messy Nachos" and yeah throw that chicken on too (that makes it healthy you know)! The nachos were fantastic. Just enough beans, cheese, and chicken for each and well they went perfectly with my $2 beer. YUM. As for the atmosphere. We sat on the back patio which was nice with just a few tables and so little bits of chitter chatter but quiet enough to carry on conversation. The inside was dark and cool, if it were any hotter it would've been a nice place to hide in a corner from the heat. The nachos were great but I'm going to have to go back and get a burger, now. Well not, okay maybe, right now. That was lunch and it's almost dinner time you know! A burgers and beer kind of place. Perfect for a night out with friends. It reminded me of Barney's Beanery back in Los Angeles with its eclectic decor and rowdy atmosphere. Since Cherry Cricket was known for their burgers, we stuck to ordering just that. Lucky for us, Sunday Night's Special was the (signature) Cricket Burger with fries for $7.50. Interestingly, burgers could be custom made with toppings such as peanut butter, herbed cream cheese or sour cream. For my burger I added spicy blackened seasoning ($0.50), provolone cheese ($1) and grilled Bermuda onions (no charge). My boyfriend chose smoked cheddar cheese ($1), green chilies ($0.75) and BBQ sauce ($0.75). We both ordered the meat cooked to medium rare. Wow! It was a mighty good burger! The meat was juicy and I loved the combo of toppings I ordered. Even the fries were nice and crispy coated in an addictive seasoning. Yum! I added Cherry Cricket to my list of top burgers. It was that good. Late night happy hour lasted from 10 to midnight everyday. We arrived just in time. With $1 off pints and $3 well drink specials, it was the place to be that Sunday night. We tried the Levity Ale for $2.25 (happy hour price). It was my kind of beer. Not too hoppy. I also drank a Torched Cherry Lemonade for $5. I had no idea what was in it, but it tasted like juice. Would I order it again? Well, it was a girly drink. Meh. Enough said. Yum yum yum! I can't say if Cherry Cricket has the best burger in Denver ( I need to try City grille and My Brother's Bar first) but I can say that they serve a darn tasty one. I love the sports bar atmosphere and the great assortment of beers! It can get so crowded though on a game day, so be warned. There burgers are so juicy and delicious. I can't eat the whole half pound burger, but I order it and ask for them to cut it in half. I find ordering the 1/4 pound burger
