than In-N-Out but without In-N-Out as a comparison this place is pretty decent. The interior of the restaurant does not by any means match the high-end modernity of its neighboring businesses. The place is dark, full of knickknacks and feels like a dive bar from the early 90s. There's an air hockey mural on the ceiling and a giant fresh water aquarium with some pretty orange and blue fish. Anyways, much like the Counter burger, you can built your own burger with a variety of toppings like avocado, peanut butter, jelly, cheese, jalapenos, onions, mushrooms, etc. You can choose a 1/2 lb patty or a quarter pound patty and you can choose a variety of sides like fries, rings, cole slaw, spanish rice, beans, etc. And for non-burger eats they have wings, sandwiches and a selection of Mexican food like enchiladas and burritos. I love how hors d'oeuvres are called horzidurvees. It reminds me of the episode of Ellen when she talks about the comical online pronunciation website that falsely tells people how to pronounce words. Hars doose dees. One of my favorite restaurants/bars in Denver! Amazing beer selection (be sure to try the chile beer), delicious food, awesome patio (great people watching), and a fun atmosphere. Perfect for a date or dinner with the fam. You can't go wrong with the jalape??o and cream cheese burger I can't come here without ordering the mac n cheese wedges. Fried mac n cheese...need I say more? The white chili is another one of my faves, especially on a cold winter day. It has the perfect amount of kick, I recommend ordering a cup with an extra tortilla. First word that entered my head when I thought of "The Cricket". Now, I realize that word has some negative connotations attached to it, but come along with me and perhaps you'll have a new comprehension of the term. This place is a "regular" for my Love and me. I'm a burger person; so is he. That's why we know the Cricket better than most joints. It's kind of like an old reliable friend; perhaps CC is not the most exciting experience, but we know the outcome will be satisfying and faithfully tasty every time we decide to hang. The actual joint is a little worse for wear. Just think of the Cheers bar....30 years later....and cleaned maybe twice in that time. It's seen better days, but that's okay. It's got that greasy-spoon-dive vibe to it, and if you're in a burger joint for anything other than grease, you really don't belong amongst us dive-dwellers anyway. SO, if you're still interested in coming along, put on your elastic-band pants, hop on the Cricket wagon and order a pitcher & some wings.
