and got the Chilaquiles Benedict. It was topped with barbacoa and pico. It looked amazing, but I was being a wussy today. My breakfast was good and the service was awesome. I particularly liked the sausage patty that was obviously not a pre-made frozen patty. It was full of great flavors and spices. Much better than my prior experience. I'm all about the hip scene of brunch, wait, no I'm not. Well, either way this place is delicious. My self proclaimed hip Downtown friend suggested this place for some Friday brunch and since I've never really went to specifically have brunch I took up her offer. We went with my other good friend and her 4 month old. We get there and it is packed!! I mean packed, 30 min wait and there is no where to stand. Do these yuppies have jobs? Come on. Not that I was complaining, everyone here seemed to be very downtown and attractive, because that's the best way to judge an eatery, right? You don't see that many hotties at Ihop at 10am. So, after having a really tasty beverage at the bar (yes, bar in a breakfast joint) we sat down about 25 min after waiting and socializing with all the other moms and dads, we sat. Now for the good part, the food. One word, amazalious. Banana chocolate cream pancakes, who does this?!? Bloody Mary, also very delightful. And in the middle of eating, John Mayer came by and got a to go (not really him, but a doppelganger none the less). Bottom line, go here, but expect to wait, that's the only reason I'm not there right now. Look, I'm not going to give the place 5 stars because it didn't totally blow my socks off. But, it's definitely worth checking out! I went on a weekday which I HIGHLY recommend, given all the other reviews that had to wait 2 hours (we waited about 15). However, take note that they will not seat you until your entire party is there, and when they are, you should check in with the hostess to let her know, otherwise people will likely get seated before you. (They lose a star for this, too.) The food overall I give 4 stars (I had the Sandwich I Am and my pal had the huevos rancheros), but the pancakes...omg the pancakes, they get a 10. We tried a sweet potato pancake (and yes, one pancake is $4.50, but it's practically bigger than the plate itself) which you wouldn't know that it had sweet potato in it except for its name (i.e. for "healthier" eating without wanting the kids to know, it's perfect). Topped with pecans and a caramel drizzle and you'll want to cry it's so good. My favorite part is its light fluffiness as others have mentioned. So it's wonderful because it practically melts in your mouth and isn't dense (leaving you feeling like you have a pound of dough just sitting in your stomach). So, so, so, so good.
