<DIV><EM>Alrededor de 300 ONG y asociaciones van a solicitar que el Fiscal de la Corte Penal Internacional investigue los crímenes de guerra cometidos por Israel en Gaza. El apoyo de la ciudadanía es indispensable. Se ruega firmar y difundir esta «petición universal». Es urgente.</EM> <BR></DIV>

<DIV>El Derecho es la marca de la civilización humana. Cada progreso de la humanidad ha coincidido con la consolidación del Derecho. El desafío que nos impone la agresión de Israel contra Gaza consiste en afirmar, en medio del sufrimiento, que a la violencia debe responder la justicia.</DIV>
<DIV>¿Crímenes de guerra? Únicamente los tribunales pueden condenar. Pero todos debemos dar testimonio, pues el ser humano sólo existe en su relación con los demás. Las circunstancias dan toda su dimensión al artículo 1º de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos: <EM>«</EM><EM>Todos los seres humanos nacen libres e iguales en dignidad y derechos y, dotados como están de razón y conciencia, deben comportarse fraternalmente los unos con los otros».</EM> </DIV>
<DIV>La protección de los pueblos, no la de los Estados, es la razón de ser de la Corte Penal Internacional. Un pueblo sin Estado es el más indefenso de todos y, ante la Historia, se encuentra situado bajo la protección de las instancias internacionales. El pueblo más vulnerable debe ser el mejor protegido. Al asesinar a la población civil Palestina, los carros de combate israelíes hacen sangrar a la humanidad. Hemos militado para que el poder del Fiscal general esté al servicio de todas las víctimas y esta competencia debe permitir que el mundo entero reciba un mensaje de esperanza, el de la construcción de un Derecho Internacional basado en el derecho de las personas. Y, juntos, un día podremos rendir homenaje al pueblo palestino por todo lo que ha aportado a la defensa de las libertades humanas.</DIV>

<P align=left>Hoy, 19 de enero de 2009, Tlaxcala, la red de traductores por la diversidad lingüística, tiene el placer de servir de mensajero multilingüe en una iniciativa mundial de asociaciones, ONG e individuos cuyo único fin es la búsqueda de la justicia, si es que justicia existe en este mundo. Por amor a la justicia, se solicita a la Corte Penal Internacional (CPI) que juzgue al Estado de Israel por los crímenes de guerra que está cometiendo en Gaza. La campaña está coordinada por el abogado francés Gilles Devers, a quien Tlaxcala rinde homenaje por su dedicación a la causa de la liberación del pueblo palestino.</P></DIV>
