<P dir=ltr>Las abejas en Europa están siendo
envenenadas con 57 tipos de pesticidas. El hallazgo,
<STRONG>publicado recientemente en una revista
científica</STRONG>, <EM>Journal of Chromatography,
</EM>ha sido posible gracias a un nuevo método de
detección de pesticidas, y confirma que la alta
mortandad de las abejas es debida en gran medida a las
prácticas de la agricultura industrial, y en
particular debido al uso masivo y rutinario de
plaguicidas. La investigación también pone de relieve
que “<STRONG>la salud de las abejas es un asunto de
interés público,</STRONG> por su importancia para el
medio ambiente y nuestra alimentación”.</P>
<P dir=ltr><STRONG>En España siguen autorizados más de
300 productos peligrosos para las abejas.</STRONG> Y
eso se traduce en millones de abejas muertas, tal y
como denunciamos y documentamos en Valencia y Murcia
el pasado mes de febrero. Por ello, uno de los
principales asuntos medioambientales que el próximo
Gobierno tiene que abordar es la protección de las
abejas. 268.000 personas ya han firmado pero
<STRONG>es importante aumentar la presión y tener

<P dir=ltr>A la vez que las 268.000 firmas,
<STRONG>hemos conseguido pequeños pero importantes
logros.</STRONG> La Comunidad Valenciana ha anunciado
un plan para controlar el uso de insecticidas y se ha
comprometido alcanzar el 20% de agricultura ecológica
para 2020 (ahora mismo está en torno al 8%). En el
ámbito nacional, se han abierto ayudas específicas
para investigación apícola donde una de las líneas
prioritarias es justo investigar la mortandad de
abejas. Y hace pocas semanas vimos como el IRTA
(Investigación y Tecnologías Agroalimentarias)
explicaba que iba a poner en marcha un ambicioso
proyecto para estudiar el impacto de los plaguicidas
sobre las abejas.</P>
<P dir=ltr><STRONG>No queremos que en febrero del año
que viene se repita la misma foto de millones de
abejas muertas.</STRONG> Las soluciones están ahí y es
momento para demandarlas. Que al próximo ministro o
ministra de Agricultura le sea imposible mirar para
otro lado. Que oiga nuestro zumbido. <STRONG>¡Ayúdanos
a ser 300.000 personas a favor de las
abejas!</STRONG></P>
