El listado de las charlas que se presentarán durante el transcurso del
evento son las siguientes:

Titulo: Promoting Open Source Methods at a Large Company
Autor: Brooks Davis
Descripcion: This talk will cover Aerosource, our project to bring open
source development tools and methods to internal developers. At the
Aerospace corporation our approximately 2500 engineers developer a lot of
software in the course of doing their jobs. This talk will cover
Aerosource, our project to bring open source development tools and methods
to internal developers. Aerosource is a project hosting environment built
on open source tools including Apache, FreeBSD, PostgreSQL, Python, and
Trac. We will share our experiences and successes at promoting open source
methods in a traditionally closed environment.

Titulo: Reflections on Building a High Performance Computing Cluster Using
FreeBSD

Descripcion: Since late 2000 we have developed and maintained a general
purpose technical and scientific computing cluster running the FreeBSD
operating system. In that time we have grown from a cluster of 8 dual
Intel Pentium III systems to our current mix of 64 dual Intel Xeon and 289
dual AMD Opteron systems. This paper looks back on the system architecture
as documented in our BSDCon 2003 paper "Building a High-performance
Computing Cluster Using FreeBSD" and our changes since that time. After a
brief overview of the current cluster we revisit the architectural
decisions in that paper and reflect on their long term success. We then
discuss lessons learned in the process. Finally, we conclude with thoughts
on future cluster expansion and designs.

Titulo: Recientes desarollos en DragonFly BSD - Recent DragonFly BSD
Development

Descripcion: Introduccion a los recientes desarrollos en DragonFly BSD, el
gran desconocido entre los BSDs, incluyendo entre otros: devfs, MPSAFE'ing
del kernel (con tokens), dsched, swapcache, device mapper y varios otros.
Tambien se presentara el uso de vkernels, una manera simple de correr un
kernel en modo usuario. La charla incluira algunos detalles tecnicos
acerca de las decisiones que han llevado a estos desarrollos. -
Introduction to recent DragonFlyBSD development, the big unknown in the
BSD-world, including: devfs, MPSAFEing with tokens, dsched, swapcache,
device mapper and several others. A short introduction to vkernels, a way
of running kernels in userland, will also be included. The talk will go
into some technical details backing the design decisions which led to
these recent developments.

Titulo: DragonFly BSD, initrd, device mapper y compañia - DragonFly BSD,
initrd and the device mapper family

Descripcion: La charla presenta el uso de device mapper, lvm y cryptsetup
en DragonFly BSD como herramientas para crear y administrar volumenes de
disco de diferentes tipos de una forma simple y flexible. Tambien se
presentara el sistema de initrd de DragonFly, que permite una gran
flexibilidad a la hora de usar cualquier tipo de dispositivo como root
mount. - This talk aims to present the use of device mapper, lvm and
cryptsetup on DragonFly BSD as tools to create and administrate disk
volumes of all sorts in an easy, intuitive and flexible way. DragonFly's
initrd system, which allows great flexibility for root mounts, will also
be presented.

Descripcion: The i in iSCSI stands for internet, some say for insecure,
personally I like to think interesting. I'll try to share the road
followed from RFC-3720 to the actual working driver, the challenges, the
frustrations.

Titulo: OpenLDAP on BSD

Descripcion: La idea es contar la experiencia donde en el 2004
administrabamos un Servidor Multipropósito hasta llegar a la actualidad,
donde contamos con mas de un Servidor para cada Servicio. La autenticación
centralizada en ambientes complejos (mas de 100.000 usuarios) nos lleva a
plantear una solución basada en OpenLDAP sobre FreeBSD.

Titulo: Tunning y Performance sobre sistemas operativos BSD
Autor: Fernando Gleiser
Descripcion: En esta charla se van a mostrar las distintas herramientas
que hay para detectar y corregir problemas de performance en en sistmas
BSD. Nos vamos e enfocar en ver comos se diagnostican problemas de CPU,
memoria, I/O y red y como se pueden corregir. CPU: utilizacion de CPU.
Saturacion de CPU. Carga de procesador, problemas sistemicos. Memoria:
paginacion, si pagina, es bueno o malo?. I/O: utilizacion de disco.
throughput. saturacion de las controladoras. Network: entendiendo el
throughput de la red. trafico vs paquetes. mbufs. La charla se presentara
con una parte teorica y una segunda parte con ejemplos donde se muestran
los conceptos de los puntos anteriores.

Descripcion: Nuevas features, administración y troubleshoting.

Titulo: TOR-Privoxy-Vidalia - Otro Capitulo de Como luchar contra su
malvado administrador

Descripcion: El movimiento Open Source está revolucionando la forma en la
cual se diseña, desarrolla y prueba el software del futuro.
Particularmente el proyecto TOR, desarrollado por colaboradores de todas
partes del mundo, está cambiando la forma en la cual se intenta brindar
cierta privacidad en las comunicaciones a la gente común. La presentación
estará enfocada en introducir al asistente al mundo de la seguridad de las
comunicaciones usando TOR, Privoxy y Vidalia, así como también las que lo
diferencian de otras herramientas comerciales y de código abierto. Se
analizará además el futuro del proyecto y se realizará una reseña sobre
las muy positivas experiencias adquiridas durante el desarrollo del
proyecto.
