Hi Frank Nice one for getting that ball rolling! Count me in :-) Tilo PS there are two different soilhack email lists, what's the deal with that? On 2018-02-16 20:42, Frank White wrote:
Hi all
This is frank, I'm getting the ball rolling. Are you interested in joining the group?
The time has come to organize the next gathering is there anyone available? it could work very well with more volunteers, I would suggest between 1-2 hours every month or even every week? The tasks available could be: -Skype meetings and discussing event structure and content. -Time table and workshops -Publicity, marketing, flyers, emails -Bookings, creating event bright and answering emails. -Time keeping during the event -Facilitating during the event -Offering a skill share or leading a subject exploration during the event -Recording, reporting, photos, filming.
From previous events done collaboratively its really easy and fun when there is a good gang of you so don't be shy if you feel you might not have much time to offer, the more the merrier. We have a small group already involved and are open to more eager people.
Nicole has offered Brook End- The date available is 25th to 27th of May (put it in your diary)
I feel like this is the best option at the moment and we can just go with this.
Good news! We have been given a grant fro £400 to help us make the gathering awesome by the good folk of Green Scythe Fair who have a bit left over from their event. So we are going to use some of that money to help us offer discount places to local farmers and growers, also to get some bits and bobs for practical soil workshops.
I'm going to be trying to gather people to the organizing group and start the ball rolling I very much hope some of you will put your hands up to help make this Soil Hack Gathering excellent.
Yours Frank

As Frank has mentioned we have again been offered the facilities at Brook End near Glastonbury by Feed Avalon who are happy to host SoilHack 2018. As everyone who joined last year I'm sure would agree, the site is lovely and has great facilities for camping and sessions. We've now got 6 people assisting in the organisation of the gathering although some of these people have limited time that they can spend, so it would be great if more people could join to share the workload. We are also interested for any ideas for sessions. Particularly from people who would like to attend and would be happy to be involved in facilitating sessions. We had loads of interesting presentations, skill shares,

You can get a taste for what happened as there are quite a few photos along with video and audio recordings of sessions uploaded at https://archive.org/search.php?query=soilhack If anyone still has any media - recordings or photos and has been unable to edit them or upload them to archive.org you can uploaded them to our new private SoilHack cloud storage, and if necessary I'll endeavor to get them edited, and then I can upload them to archive.org The upload link for media is https://datengarten.allmende.io/s/ipb92Kt6sOv10fE
Sorry for delayed reply. I'm up for being involved. I'm not sure if I can make it to both days yet but i can do stuff before. I'm also really busy with work in April/May but I can do an hour a week of something (preferably not social media though, it's giving me anxiety).
