---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Stacco Troncoso <[email protected]> Date: Fri, Nov 15, 2019 at 2:54 AM Subject: Turn the beat around: The DisCO Manifesto is live and ready to download To: Dear colleagues, friends and supporters, We hope all is well with you. We are writing today to announce that we are publicly launching the first version of our DisCO Manifesto <https://disco.coop/2019/11/you-say-decentralized-i-say-potato-the-disco-manifesto-is-live-and-ready-to-download/> . You are receiving this email because you contributed to this document, or expressed an interest in reading it. As a reminder, DisCO stands for Distributed Cooperative Organization. We see a DisCO as a way for people to work and create value together that's cooperative, creates commons and is based on feminist economic principles. Most of all, they're a more human yet also radical alternative to the DAO, or Decentralized Autonomous Organization <https://blockchainhub.net/dao-decentralized-autonomous-organization/>, which has different priorities and potential outcomes, to say the least. Want to find out more? Then check out The DisCO Manifesto. Download here <https://disco.coop/manifesto/> If I Only Had a Heart: a DisCO Manifesto is our deep dive into the worlds of the blockchain, commons, cooperatives, AI, feminist economics and so much more! It's 80 pages long, adorned with amazing images, and will take you about an hour to read straight through. We hope that the text is engaging, lively and easy to read. You can download the manifesto on PDF from this page <https://disco.coop/manifesto/> (more versions coming soon), or you can read our press release here <https://disco.coop/2019/11/you-say-decentralized-i-say-potato-the-disco-manifesto-is-live-and-ready-to-download/> . Share it! Co-published with the Transnational Institute <https://www.tni.org/> (TNI), the Manifesto is the culmination of our work with the P2P Foundation <https://p2pfoundation.net/>, Commons Transition <https://primer.commonstransition.org/>, Guerrilla Translation <https://www.guerrillatranslation.org/> and Guerrilla Media Collective <https://wiki.guerrillamediacollective.org/index.php/Main_Page> groups. It extends concepts such as Platform and Open Cooperativism <http://commonstransition.org/from-platform-to-open-cooperativism/> into new, exciting areas. We want to reach everyone who could benefit from these ideas, will you help us out? We invite you to: - Resend this email to anyone who you think will be interested - Share any of the links above in Social Media - Recommended hashtags: #DiscoCoop, #coops, #platformcoop, #feminism, #commons, #p2p, #blockchain, #DAOs - Contact us at [email protected] or reply to this email to share your feedback or ideas with us.
