Hi all. I wish to propose to start issue based blogs on the actually unused domain p2pf.net I donated to the community. We could make a multiuser wordpress installation with subdomains, so to have the ability to create blogs on issues. Actually there's an interesting discussion on p2p facebook group about cryptocurrencies. My proposal is to start the first issue based blog on cryptocurrencies, calling it p2pcoin.p2pf.net All the issue based blogs would be "unofficial" blogs of p2pfoundation, so IMHO editor rights could be more free. I propose to ask participants to discussion on p2p facebook group to become editors of this blog. To start, the blog could a sort of aggregator of articles on cryptocurrencies and then, if there will be participation it will be possible also to start community tools (i.e. buddypress and soon) and/or reposting of facebook groups. If the community is interested, James or Javier could make the installation. M
Hi Marco, Why don't you host it yourself and manage yourself? You don't need to wait for us and also Javier and I have very limited time for this at the moment. Remember its only worth doing if people can commit to writing. Best, James On Sat, Mar 15, 2014 at 3:45 PM, Marco Giustini <[email protected]>wrote:

Hi Marco, I take it you are probably a little frustrated with the pace at which the site development has been moving. There are a number of reasons for this. I was trying to take a lead on this before Christmas but I have had a lot of work on since. There are 2 things we need to do as a community and that is firstly to prepare a to do list with a schedule for testing and implementing changes and secondly develop a budget for the crowfunding campaign which we hope to do with Goteo. The campaign needs to be done properly. At a time when we will have human resources available to manage it. Michel has suggested that we do this in August or September as he is busy until June and everyone will be on holidays in July. The editorial on the blog is already quite free, in fact we often have difficulty achieving the 4 posts a day and so we really welcome you or anyone else who would like to contribute to do so. The plan for the redeveloped blog is that it will be multi-lingual with thematic sections more like an online journal or magazine. We will also host a forum where members of the community can create groups around specialist interest, which we hope will be a source of interesting content for the blog. Perhaps the domain p2pf.net could be used so that the forum groups could have their own subdomain? I too would like this to move faster but we are all just volunteers here and progress on this unfortunately comes second to our paying work. Kevin, Where are the plans for changes and this TODO list to be located? What are you raising funds for?

It should also be noted that each posting doesn't get many comments. Having yet another blog or discussion site would only further diffuse the conversation, wouldn't it? It's a good thing you don't close comments for a post after a period of time, since many new comments seem to be on pieces that are years old. -Karl

Looking to how much are active the discussions on P2P (./p2p.open) Facebook group than on Blog comments, perhaps there's the need to better integrate wordpress with facebook and other social media.

Hi Marco,
I take it you are probably a little frustrated with the pace at which the site development has been moving.
I'm aware that the core group of developers is very little and with no sufficient time to work on redeveloping now.
The plan for the redeveloped blog is that (....)
As I understood you want to put all the features on the p2pfoundation.netdomain, so p2pf.net domain actually have no role in this redeveloping. Actually you have p2p encyclopedia hosted on main domain, p2pfoundation.netand blog on a subdomain of it. To develop a more complex infrastructure than the actual blog, as you described before, could be useful to separate the p2p encyclopedia from the p2p blog. I mean each with his own domain, hosting wordpress instead on p2pfoundation.net domain on p2pf.net one. But this could be dangerous in terms of SEO. Is needed to ask a SEO expert if is possible to move the blog from "blog.p2pfoundation.net" to "p2pf.net" without loosing search engines' positioning for blog. If is possible to redirect contents to new links without losing SEO positioning, could be an idea to move all the blog on p2pf.net domain. The p2pf.net domain is not associated in any way with P2P Foundation, so I could try to make an experimental "unofficial" multiblog with some of the features you wish in the future use for the p2pfoundation.net blog and when the infrastructure is ready, you could decide what to do. Let me know. m
I want to relaunch the idea of organizing our community through the Viable Systems Model of governance this means we would have productive groups of 1-5 people in charge of certain developments (max 7 , 5-9 range is acceptable), so say, one on 'site developement'; then the 4 meta groups are conflict resultion, synergy seeking, adaptation to external environment, and identity defense ... this would mean that one working group would work out a proposal internally, and then propose it to the whole group for a wave of commentary, before implementation ..
