Hi Bryan, it's too long for us, but interesting, so I have excerpted from it for August 12, and people can then discover the original for more. My take is that you can't totally uproot a society in one go, so RBE networks have to predate any more fundamental change ... So you would have to create a network of phyles, i.e. community-based, mission-oriented enterprises, which network together through open book management, and can start to mutually coordinate an ever larger part of their exchanges in a new way ... I agree completely...in many ways, we're too far along the path for a fundamental earth-shattering change to happen overnight; however, we're already seeing more and more businesses, groups, networks, people, etc. collaborating outside the profit margin sphere, and it's only a matter of time before this conglomeration of activity reaches a tipping point (i.e., when it becomes the new mainstream)...it's going to be interesting to see the clash between this interactive network going up against the current mainstream thinking en masse. Thanks again for getting back to me though, and keep up the excellent P2P Foundation work! Our farm is Sisaket (sandwiched between Surin and Ubon Ratchathani in the NE), although much of our time is spent in BKK these days taking care of marketing, deliveries, etc. I'm actually out of the country at the moment on a work assignment until 17 August, but I'd be happy to meet up in BKK when I get back...give me a call on 18/19 August (0813475920) if you're keen and we can grab a coffee somewhere in town.
