Re: [P2P-F] Where is the p2pfoundation chatroom?
I'm personally in favour of integration, i.e. to integrate chat, twitter updates, and social media (buddypress) in the wordpress blog so that we don't have to go to many different places On Wed, Jan 22, 2014 at 1:48 AM, Josef Davies-Coates < [email protected]> wrote:
For online chat rooms I've heard good things about https://conversejs.org/
Just did a quick search and looks like there are a couple of plugins to easily add it to wordpress: http://wordpress.org/plugins/conversejs/ http://wordpress.org/plugins/conversejs-wp/
I'd try the former.

Thanks Josef, That's probably why Seth didn't want to install it. I'm still looking for a solution for chat audio, and if available video and creen share to install on cbox... If you know for a start of a good plugin for BP, I am interested too. The one I had just stopped to work...
Seth pointed me to Together JS from Mozilla, which is quite good because you have IM, audio and screen sharing, but this requires another IM or an email to initiate a session (there none there), but one may expect Mozilla to develop stuff around this...

It is also trivial to embed the web client on another website (get embed code via icon at top-left -> Add webchat to your site
re: Big Blue Box is great (best/ most developed open source solution of it's kind) but re integrating Big Blue Box with Commons in a Box I personally don't/ can't see that happening in a nice/ sensible way that would make sense. BBB is very resource hungry and being a mash up of loads of different programs itself has loads of dependencies and I believe requires a carefully configured dedicated server to get it working (it was developed by and for university use, I think).

Hi Dorotea,
What browser are you using? Have you tried a different one? Unfortunately Michel, Javier probably won't be able to anything with this as the primary mailing list is hosted with ourprojects.org

I think it would be a good idea to have a chatroom, who is the best person with skills to set it up? I can help somehow, but I'm sure there are people who know more about it than me :)

there's a wordpress plugin that can integrate facebook comments and twitter to post comments (in paper, i haven't tested it yet) what's nice from conversejs is that it uses regular xmpp/jabber so you don't need to use that exactly same plugin to communicate and use whatever you prefer. it could be used with google accounts until google decides to close federation altogether. same for irc and any other well stablished protocol that has more than one software implementation :) i'm in the irc channel and you can find me in jabber using this address. ps: in which list are we discussing this on? i see email addresses amassing and i'm not sure if i should reply to all. -- :{
I lost track as well, I think Kevin is the person to tell you about our email list universe, Kevin, perhaps you could add your list here: http://p2pfoundation.net/Main_Page?title=Main_Page&action=edit§ion=6 Michel On Wed, Jan 22, 2014 at 2:22 AM, Nicolás Reynolds <[email protected]>wrote:
