Sahana has since grown into a true global FOSS project widely utilised for localised information management and recoveries during the Haiti Quake, Peru, Yogjakarta, Leyte, Pakistan, Servodaya and others, and is now adopted by the City of New York Office of Emergency Management as result of post 911 requirement determinations. Only one is from Sendai city government, from inside. Others include central gov guys, some local gov outside, cloud and software developpers, etc. But this list is only in Japanese. Many others are trying to implement services - almost on the fly without much coordination, and this is quite anticipated so that I proposed to have coordination team. I have already introduced ushahidi and ChristChruch forum to this list and waiting for the reaction. I also am trying to reach others working in the field. So, yes, will try, is my short answer/ izumi 2011/3/16 Terra Friedrichs <[email protected]>:
Izumi, do you have lists or organizations or contacts that we can post? That was/is/has been very helpful in Haiti. the government provides lists of contacts for various roles (ie. medical, food, etc). Also, any lists of locations for people to get services. We post all of that, too...

Hi, on the one hand, yes, the situation is chaotic, but, there are also many people inside Japan doing the work quietly and rationally. The chaos is not ALWAYS that bad, I mean it creates something new.
Of course, still I do appreciate your spreading the word and getting ideas back. It is very encouraging to know how others have done, say in Christchurch or Thailand.
