Let me make simple tips for future prevention. A) if someone is able to take over your dns account He also controls the email account. This is because you use P2pfoundation.net as a suffix. B) have a secure computer C) never use another's computer D) do not use the same password on different platforms. Does p2pfoundation use https explicitly on logon? E) have the passwords stored hashed and salted on the p2pf servers. I would first check A) 9 Φεβ 2014, 19:09, ο/η Michel Bauwens <[email protected]> έγραψε:

Since p2pfoundation.net doesn't use encryption (https) consider all passwords there viewable by anyone. This isn't something that users would do. It requires the admins to implement it. I have a limited time myself. 10 Φεβ 2014, 15:32, ο/η Michel Bauwens <[email protected]> έγραψε:

Well that's a good place to start. I agree we should be using https. We are currently working on developing the site so we will look into this. On 10 February 2014 17:05, Apostolis Xekoukoulotakis <[email protected]>wrote:
Since p2pfoundation.net doesn't use encryption (https) consider all passwords there viewable by anyone.
This isn't something that users would do. It requires the admins to implement it.
I have a limited time myself.

A) if someone is able to take over your dns account He also controls the email account. This is because you use P2pfoundation.net as a suffix.
B) have a secure computer
C) never use another's computer
D) do not use the same password on different platforms. Does p2pfoundation use https explicitly on logon?
E) have the passwords stored hashed and salted on the p2pf servers.
I would first check A)

Hey Apostolis, Would you be able to start a page on the wiki where we can document and share best practices for security? I think it would be great to have something that we can point members of the community to. I'm slowly but surely using gpg and otr on a more regular basis. Perhaps at some stage we could even organise an online skills sharing QA bringing those who are more au fait with these tools together with those who might need some help, tips or advice.
