hi amaia, in the short run, tagging country names on blog articles is entirely possible and I will start to do it ... in the medium term, perhaps we can first develop the wiki section with all the info we find, then, we can branch out to a subblog, but this is going to be beyond my personal means, but if people can be found to maintain it, it would be great .. I think the main blog should remain generalist and unitary, but the wiki and blog could get regional, language, or topical extensions if those emerge in the short term we could create a P2P Revolution page, with its category tag, but which would appear as a separate page, as James did for the videos .. I'm not a big fan of starting thigns that cannot be maintained because no one 'owns' the project .. what do you think? Michel On Wed, Jun 22, 2011 at 2:02 PM, Amaia Arcos <[email protected]>wrote:

Morning (this side of the world) all,

Great idea. I am already progressively building a relationship with those I come across and it was my intention to do so in a more active way as soon as possible.

I understand that for the time being we are publishing in the blog (could we create country tags so all articles relating to that country show up in a single URL?). Part of me thinks it may get to a point where another platform - linked to p2p foundation and blog of course, maybe a subdomain? - could be more useful and a comprehensive aggregator of geographically tagged protest movements. Each geographic category could contain:

- a wikipedia article about the protests (ie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_Egyptian_revolution) and perhaps the general country overview article (for context) too

- main protest movements websites (Facebook pages + Twitter accounts)

- main (related theme) bloggers + mags (ie roarmag articles, arabist, etc)

- our own research and articles

And then the p2p blog could remain more academic per se? It would be fairly easy creating users as we progressively "recruit" more people to research and write about their country/region.. Also it would progressively become a very valuable tool. I think a single URL where stuff can be seen at once is a lot more user friendly and encouraging for those who are working towards change.

What do you all think? It's an idea.. Feel free to debunk. Do we start the conversation about coordinating here? I'm really looking forward to all of this and working together :)

We could have an unpublished document where all the contacts we make get listed and updated there or something..

Dear Amaia, Orsan and friends,

As you know, I'm quite enthused by the square occupation and popular assembly movement emerging in Europe, as i consider it to be the first massive cultural and political expression of the p2p ethos ...

however, being overwhelmed right now, including by issues of personal survival, I was wondering if you, orsan and amaia, could make a particular effort at interconnecting the p2p-f efforts with new emerging groups and people ...

I'm thinking in particular of roarmag, the new significance, the dsg, and the european revolution groups,

i.e. could you get in touch with them, explain briefly what we do, show our coverage, and see from there whether further collaborations are possible?

Michel

Thiat would be great! I would do what I can in my very limited capacity! In short term, the name is not so attractive :) but, this experimental space can be transformed into what you are suggesting Amaia: http://openfsm.net/projects/gaia/summary I have already started to invite people from #take the square, world strike 2012, j30 stike movements. it may become an experimental networked online meeting point. Than we may link it to P2P-F in everyway we can! what do you think?   Citeren Michel Bauwens <[email protected]>:
