migrating from ning to open source 'federating' platform? (like BuddyPress)
Hello, Recently I try to keep track on open source social networking platforms, with emphasis on those who work on implementing 'federation' protocols. BuddyPress belongs to them and I've just found this plugin which should import ning network, short post about it available here: http://teleogistic.net/2010/07/import-from-ning-now-imports-ning-content-int... Example of BuddyPress installation you can see for example at: http://hitchwiki.org/community/ I wonder if anyone from P2P foundation 'IT department' would like to experiment with it? I could also try to research more about current capacity of BP to federate with other networks (and platforms). =) elf Pavlik
Hi Elf, I made this proposal last time when we were discussing migrating away from ning, since our blog is central, it would make a lot of sense, but it didn't get any traction, anyone changed his mind on this? Michel On Sat, Mar 26, 2011 at 9:51 PM, elf Pavlik <[email protected]>wrote:

Dear all I'm working together with some fellows on a special issue for a French magazine entirely focused on p2p, open-source, sharism, bottom-up, etc. It would be nice to interview also some French p2p activists or theorists, but I don't really know no one in France. Maybe you can help me? All the best Ciao, Bertram

Philippe Aigrain is a must, as is herve mentioned by sam, I would also certainly include Olivier Auber, a p2p artist, and I find Remi Sussan an extremely interesting thinker, and sympathetic to p2p and has the broadest possible transmodern culture ..; not to be missed also is jean-pierre cornu I've added most of the emails in cc, Michel 2011/3/28 Samuel Rose <[email protected]>
