Hello friends!

As you know, 2012 came and went with no big bang.  However, we humans aren't exactly out of the woods. Now more than ever ideas like biological diversity, the promise & potential of eco-machines, permaculture, design revolution, urban farming, mycology solutions, shamanic practices, yoga & meditation are extremely relevant, even vital to our planet.  As our film 2012: TIME FOR CHANGE seeks to encourage conversation & action on these ideas we decided to relaunch the film on Mangu.tv.  It's available now in English & Portuguese and soon will be in Spanish & French as well.

We're also launching the documentary
BEING IN THE WORLD, which explores the meaning of life according to philosopher Martin Heidegger and celebrates what it means to be human in a technological age.  The film posits that especially in this booming time of technology, manual skills like carpentry, playing music and cooking remain more relevant than ever.

We'd love to hear your thoughts.  Connect with us, express your voice and share with your friends.

Much love.

RUSSELL BRAND talks about why he thinks you should watch 2012: TIME FOR CHANGE. The iconic comedian is fascinated with DANIEL PINCHBECK and his work on how consciousness expansion is an integral ingredient for the sustainability of our planet.
Once upon a time there was a world full of meaning, forged by exemplary figures in the form of gods and heroes, saints and sinners. How did we lose them? Perhaps they are still around, in the form of modern day masters from master carpenters and master chefs, to virtuoso musicians and world class athletes.  Are these masters able to inspire us and restore a sense of wonder? In BEING IN THE WORLD world renowned Musician Manuel Molina makes a case for what it means to not only be a master but what it means to be a human.
.... an inspiring, thought-provoking video that we love.
Filmmaker/artist/author Raoul Martinez talks about The Lottery of Birth in this important TEDx talk.  He says, "[t]hroughout history, people have been conditioned to believe oppressive ideologies, to support destructive systems and to believe downright lies.  If we're to get beyond our conditioning, we need to question the forces that have shaped us.  We need to ask, Why do I believe what I believe? Why do I have the habits that I have?  And crucially, whose interests do they serve?"
....something new or be renewed as we share words of wisdom or information that resonate with us.
MIND SHIFT is a new talk show for a new era. Host Daniel Pinchbeck focuses on the deepest issues impacting our world with today’s intellectual heavyweights and cultural superstars.  This new series premieres exclusively on Gaiam TV this Sept. 24th.  Learn more.

At Mangu.tv, we feel that many times socially-conscious films are better given as a gift - a pay it forward so to speak - so we've implemented that technology in our platform. In the same spirit, each newsletter will highlight a worthy cause deserving of your attention.
Pulitzer-prize winning authors Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn recently embarked on an experiment, building a game version of their best-selling book HALF THE SKY on Facebook to ignite the change needed to fight the oppression of girls and women worldwide. The game has just reached 1 million players and has raised $410,000 for women's empowerment around the world.  Games can do good.
