The GMO Dark Act Cannot Survive the Light

HR 1599, already passed by the US House of Representatives, is widely known as the DARK act. DARK stands for Deny Americans the Right to Know Act because the bill would prevent states from labelling GMOs. Some essential facts about GMOs, if more widely known, could prevent this bill from becoming law. One of these is that responsible and effective regulation is being exercised by the FDA, which is a myth that was repeated in a recent Senate hearing. Equally damaging is the standard perception that FDA is acting lawfully in allowing GE foods onto the market.
