I know no one asked me my opinion but here it is:
Marcin and his team are doing something extremely difficult and need help from the community. Instead of criticizing them, why not lend a hand. Go into the wiki, clean up some pages and interact with the participants. Then publish your feedback about the project, their collaborative capacity, it's culture, etc so we can all benefit from your experience.
Marcin is becoming a public face for the open source hardware movement. We should help him and his project succeed. Constructive criticism is helpful, but requires that people try to get involved with the project, see what could be improved and then publishing recommendations.
thanks, Eli, for responding to the questions regarding the lack of sharing in the OSE project,

Dear Michel,Regarding lack of sharing, what I see is that our wiki is not top-quality as you would expect from a global company with a big-budget marketing department, like Coca-Cola :PReally, our wiki needs to improve A LOT to achieve a decent level of ease-of-use. Currently, people have a hard time finding the information they need, either because it's scattered all over the place or simply isn't there yet. That doesn't mean we have a secret agenda. We don't WANT to hide our documents. We don't want to make it hard for people to find out how to build our tools. Our intention is the opposite. But there's a distance between intention and the current reality. A distance that we would like to shorten.I think that, once we have a bigger budget, we can hire marketing and other types of professionals to revamp our wiki and make it really well-presented and easy to use.Regarding a lack of mutual aid, I do not see how that is true. Maybe some examples could help - can you obtain them from David?Feel free to copy this email (to David, for instance).Elifarley--On Wed, Aug 10, 2011 at 04:55, Michel Bauwens <michel@p2pfoundation.net> wrote:
hi eli,
perhaps you can answer this critique, to what degree is it true?

As regards opensourceecology.org, I would need to study Marcin
Jakubowski's proposals more closely before venturing comment, but -
given their verbosity - I can't promise that will happen soon. From
what I have read about the project in the past, however, I have never
witnessed anything resembling the sort of commitment to sharing and
mutual aid that I would expect or hope for.
The idea of mutual aid and support needs to be at its _core_ - it
can't be an appendix.
