Hi Julie: Please post this on our daily “Latest Headlines” for our 32,000 professional subscribers and on our Wealth of Networks and Global Citizens pages, with this intro;

“Ethical Markets agrees with this survey of public opinion by the Knight Foundation finding that 79%  of Americans agree that social media platforms should be regulated like the news media they are.  The European Union’s General data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a good start.

We also  highly recommend two  books:  “Anti-social Media" by Siva  Vaidhyanathan (2018)   and “Ten Arguments for Deleting Your Social Media Accounts Now“ (2018) by Jaron Lanier, as well as my editorials  “The Idiocy of Things” and  “AI +Algorithms = Assumptions“ and our TV program "Social Media in the Crosshairs” .

~Hazel Henderson, Editor“

Thanks ,

Hazel
