Dear friends and colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that CIIS (California Institute of Integral Studies) is now offering a doctoral degree in Integral and Transpersonal Psychology, and that there are still some available spots for Fall 2018 enrollment.
This part-time online PhD program in whole-person approaches has been expressly designed for working professionals seeking to enhance their credentials, cultivate new meaning in their work, deepen their skills, or contribute to shaping their areas of specialization. Both scholars and practitioners are equally encouraged to apply. In addition to a course of study that prepares students for scholarship and research, students can choose to:
· Participate in a new research lab for whole-person approaches to neuroscience
· Serve as an intern for a peer-reviewed academic journal with more than 35,000 article downloads per year in 170 countries
· Collaborate with and be supervised by senior scholars such as Stanley Krippner, Charles Tart, Jorge Ferrer, Jenny Wade, Dean Radin, and many more, to further their research in the integral and transpersonal fields
This is a research-oriented degree that teaches both rigorous intellectual and embodied approaches to inquiry with high standards of scholarship and critical thinking. Students in the program will be required to complete 36 units of part-time coursework and write a dissertation.

Both Jorge and Glenn would be happy to speak with you personally or via Skype to answer any questions you may have. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact our admissions representative, Lindsay Roth, at lroth@ciis.edu with the subject line “Integral and Transpersonal Psychology PhD.” We also have diversity scholarships available.
The era of whole-person approaches to mental health has arrived. Be the evolution. Apply now.
Sincerely,
Jorge N. Ferrer, Core Faculty
Glenn Hartelius, Director
Jorge N. Ferrer, PhD, is regarded as one of the main contemporary theoreticians of the field of transpersonal psychology. His participatory perspective is widely discussed in the fields of transpersonal studies, integral and contemplative education, and religious studies and comparative mysticism. He is the award-winner author of Revisioning Transpersonal Theory and Participation and the Mystery, as well as the co-editor of The Participatory Turn. Ferrer is currently writing a book on transpersonal perspectives on sexuality and intimate relationships. In 2009, he became an advisor to the organization Religions for Peace at the United Nations on a research project aimed at solving global interreligious conflict.
Glenn Hartelius, PhD, is an internationally known scholar in transpersonal psychology. Building on his research into developing a comprehensive definition of the transpersonal field, Glenn serves as editor for the International Journal of Transpersonal Studies, which has the largest online circulation of any transpersonal journal. He co-edited The Wiley-Blackwell Handbook of Transpersonal Psychology, the first-ever professional handbook for the field. He has taught in a variety of transpersonal programs throughout the United States and in Europe, and is engaged in developing a laboratory for whole-person approaches to neuroscience.
