Hola tafkad:

Dear Marcos, I have recently started to explore the world of Linux for music recording as I want to stop using Windows. I have tried many Live-CD's and still have yet to find one that convinces me to install it rather than just test. The most recent I have tried is the Musix GNU+Linux 0.39 cd and I must say so far this is the one that has almost convinced me.

I am very glad!

I don't know who to talk to about this project and I am hoping it is you :]

Yes, we also have a mailing list https://lists.ourproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/musix-users

I have an RME Digiface soundcard and found that it just was not working quite right with this release. I was able to record audio into Aurdor, however playback just can not be heard and none of the Jack configuring I do helps as none of the provided mixers seem to like my soundcard, with all of the mixers not showing the correct amount of fader controls (only 1 fader shows up and does not help).

Yes: sorry, no one tried with this soundcard before, you will have to install the mixer, it's easy

I was wondering if a future release can include the RME mixer/settings software that I have found on some of the other Live-CD's?

Sure: but you can install it now: Into a root console (terminal), type apt-get update apt-get install alsa-tools-gui And then you will have: hdspconf - GUI program to control the Hammerfall HDSP Alsa Settings. hdspmixer - tool to control the advanced routing features of the RME Hammerfall DSP. rmedigicontrol - control tool for RME Digi32 and RME Digi96 soundcards

I was realy hoping this release would be a positive experiance as it is the 1st one I have found with the updated RealTime enabled 2.6 kernel. I actualy bought the RME card for the purpose of using it with linux, but must admit I know very little about the linux environment. Right now I use Logic Audio to work with but know that someday Linux will have stable VST support and be the OS of choice for me. I'd like to say thanks to all who have contributed to the Musix project and wish the best of luck in the future. Take care and peace -scott
