[Musix-users] USB Midiman non-free, RMS: "If we are going to do this, the next step is to figure out who to talk to..."
[M-Colab] Re: [Musix-users] USB Midisport (license doubt) De: Richard Stallman <[email protected]> Para: [email protected] CC: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Fecha: 23/06/06 00:14 Would you like to implement, on fsf.org, a list of the USB MIDI interfaces which work with free software, and the ones that don't? We would like that. If you want to do it, please write to [email protected] and he can accept the info from you. > Is there any chance we could convince Midiman > to change this policy? Well... we must try: If we are going to do this, the next step is to figure out who to talk to, and that person's addresses or phone numbers, and what language to talk with him in. Then we need someone who speaks that language, to call that person. Want to start? Another idea: If the non-free code is available in source code, someone could study that code, get the ideas out of it, and write a completely different program (not copying any details, of course, since those are copyrighted). This new program could be free.
