Dear Marcos, Thanks for releasing 0.49! I gave it a second try with this version to get my Gina20 card running. It looks as if I would get a little closer, but not close enough :-( snd-gina20 is being loaded but during startup an error message occurs, saying that the firmware can not be found. These are the messages printed in /var/log/dmesg: pci_hotplug: PCI Hot Plug PCI Core version: 0.5 shpchp: Standard Hot Plug PCI Controller Driver version: 0.4 PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 0000:00:0e.0 ALSA /usr/src/modules/alsa-driver/pci/echoaudio/echoaudio.c:45: get_firmware(): Firmware not available (-2) Echoaudio Gina20: probe of 0000:00:0e.0 failed with error -2 8139cp: 10/100 PCI Ethernet driver v1.2 (Mar 22, 2004) The directories /lib/firmware and /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware are both empty, should they be? No, I dont think so. Hi folks! well, the firmware must be free software, because it is distributet by the alsa project. if you go here: http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/index.php?vendor=vendor-Echo_Corporatio... you find my card in the second line. the dirver is gina20. unfortunately it says "discontinued", whatever that means in this context? the problem is, i don't have enough time at the moment to fiddle around with this thing, but i'll keep you informed as i discover some solutions. i downloaded the alsa 1.0.11 source plus fimrware source but i couldn't build it due to an error during the execution of the configure script. do i need to have the kernel sources installed as well to compile alsa firmware? greetingz johannes -- Johannes M. The kernel headers, look, the 2.6.15.3 and 2.6.13 have their headers installed into Musix, also you will need -dev files, ask into the ALSA list: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user greetingz -- Marcos Guglielmetti * Director del desarrollo de Musix GNU+Linux, 100% Software Libre * Descarga el CD de Musix: (www.musix.org.ar) (www.pc-musica.com.ar/musix) * Videos, programas y otras cosas en: ftp://musix.ourproject.org/pub/musix/ * Reporte de errores a: https://www.musix.org.ar/wiki/index.php?title=Problemas-Bugs *IRC: #musix channel on freenode
