Thanx Tim,

I was at these sites. But I don't understand what to do. Isn't there a more "user" oriented info available anywhere? I don't want to become a Linux super freak only to get my sound card going. There is this ALSA config tool. It just doesn't recognize my card. Is there an easy way to feed this config tool with the needed info?

Thanx a lot, FRitz

at boot you chould select the multimedia kernel. and then try to do alsaconf in a root console going to send this the musix mailing list Um abraço tim hall wrote:

I'm an absolute newbie to Linux. I installed the latest "musix" distro in the Knoppix mode and I've got a Gina24 that is not recognized by the alsaconfig tool. What do I have to do to get it running?
