[kune issues] #154: Clicking on Documents should show index
#154: Clicking on Documents should show index -------------------------+------------------- Reporter: samer@… | Owner: vjrj Type: defect | Status: new Priority: major | Milestone: Component: Group space | Version: Keywords: | Blocked By: Blocking: | -------------------------+------------------- Case: If I am in the "documents" tool, I open a doc, I edit it, I finish editing, I go to blog, I edit there... and I want to come back to "documents", so I click in "documents"... and it re-opens the doc I had open. I want to go to the index and I don't know how. I click again in "documents" but it does nothing. I want to go to the index! The point is that the "go to container folder" button is not trivial to understand. The tree structure of folders down neither, especially if you are just in a doc in the main index (root folder). Proposal of solution: clicking on "documents" should take you to the index, or at least to the last folder you were, but never inside a wave. -- Ticket URL: <http://kune.ourproject.org/issues/ticket/154> kune issues <http://kune.ourproject.org/issues/>

Scenario: - You are editing a doc, and you remember that you have to start a task or to post something.... then you have to go to the other tool, do that stuff, and return to the same point of work... without to have to follow anytime all the path from one content to another. Imagine you have a big structure of folder... You have two ways to move up: the go up button, and also the folders path (below), now with a better description (you can drag & drop things here, bla, bla, bla). To have three options to make the same things, and to don't have some "memory" of what you was doing in your inbox or in some tools... I think is worst. For me this is a "wontfix", sorry. Proposal: let's use kune (for real not for tests) and we'll see more accurate the problems and the solutions. -- Ticket URL: <http://kune.ourproject.org/issues/ticket/154#comment:2> kune issues <http://kune.ourproject.org/issues/>

I see and agree with you in that case... and what about to send to the index of documents if I click on "documents" only in the case when I'm already there? I mean, what I'm concerned is about the "confused users" that don't know that "documents" behaves as a folder tree, and they won't understand how to go out of a document that is open. In the tests I did it has happened several times. And when there are no folders and just one doc opened, it is not trivial to understand the structure behind it. I see it is better to have "memory" when you are in another tool and you click in "documents". But if you are already in "documents" and still click in "documents" it means you are pretty lost, right? :) In that case, maybe the user wants the index of documents... -- Ticket URL: <http://kune.ourproject.org/issues/ticket/154#comment:3> kune issues <http://kune.ourproject.org/issues/>
