[Kune - Feature #174] (Closed) Remember my login
by Redmine Comunes 03 Sep '12

Issue #174 has been updated by Vicente J. Ruiz Jurado. Status changed from New to Closed % Done changed from 0 to 100 Resolution set to fixed ---------------------------------------- Feature #174: Remember my login http://redmine.ourproject.org/issues/174#change-396 * Author: Anonymous * Status: Closed * Priority: High * Assignee: Vicente J. Ruiz Jurado * Category: User Management * Target version: * Resolution: fixed ---------------------------------------- It'd be nice, if it's easy and quick, that Kune remembers my login credentials even if I close the site and a few days have passed. If it's not very complicated, I would allow the typical "tick" [x] field "Remember me", and if I mark it a cookie would make sure that for the next month I don't need to manually login in Kune (expiry date of a month seems reasonable to me, like Wikipedia). -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it. [Kune - Feature #156] (In Progress) Give RTL support (for Arabic and other similar languages)

[Kune - Feature #152] (Closed) Proposal: remove top-left "public space" icon
by Redmine Comunes 03 Sep '12

03 Sep '12

Issue #152 has been updated by Vicente J. Ruiz Jurado. Status changed from New to Closed % Done changed from 0 to 100 Resolution set to fixed This option now is "optional" via kune.properties. ---------------------------------------- Feature #152: Proposal: remove top-left "public space" icon http://redmine.ourproject.org/issues/152#change-393 * Author: Anonymous * Status: Closed * Priority: High * Assignee: Vicente J. Ruiz Jurado * Category: Usability * Target version: * Resolution: fixed ---------------------------------------- This is a controversial proposal. Explanation: * The home, user-space & group-space icons have a common behaviour: wherever you are, you can go there to change "view" and do actions. In Home you can view last updates & stats, in user-space your edited docs, in group-space your group view. * The "public" icon does not behave the same way. 1) you cannot do actions there, it's just to see "how will the page look like". 2) It DOES matter where you are in the group-space, as the "public" icon will show the public version of whatever you were seeing there. However, I may be working in my user-space and if I jump from there to the public, it'd show the last page I saw in the group-space... That's confusing. * I propose that this functionality, the "how will the page look like", is a preview button from the group-space. A preview button, and nothing else. Thus, you must be in the group-space to click on it. It is a preview, which people understand what is it. And it keeps the same functionality. This suggestion comes from explaining it to different people and most finding it pretty confusing. This is especially complicated right now, when the public part is not yet implemented. I would do this change asap to minimize confusion and increase usability (instead of four top-left icons to understand, only three). Maybe there are other alternatives to this change, but it'd be good to discuss this issue. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it. [Kune - Feature #131] (Closed) Secure register/sign in and autologin
by Redmine Comunes 03 Sep '12

03 Sep '12

Issue #131 has been updated by Vicente J. Ruiz Jurado. Status changed from New to Closed % Done changed from 0 to 100 ---------------------------------------- Feature #131: Secure register/sign in and autologin http://redmine.ourproject.org/issues/131#change-392 * Author: Vicente J. Ruiz Jurado * Status: Closed * Priority: High * Assignee: Vicente J. Ruiz Jurado * Category: Common * Target version: * Resolution: fixed ---------------------------------------- The goal: - Register accounts - Sign in with user/pass - and auto login with a cookie for some days in both Kune+Wave+XMPP Also we have to permit xmpp auth to non kune/emite xmpp clients. The current status: Kune/WIAB register users with digest SHA-512 + salt auth plaintext user + pass (see [[WaveClientSimpleAuthenticator]]). Aka: We should use https Autologin is done via a hash in a cookie. A proposed non secure solution (server specific) is to implement a custom: http://www.igniterealtime.org/builds/openfire/docs/latest/documentation/jav… http://community.igniterealtime.org/thread/35365 and for autologin, try to auth to xmpp with user+cookie-hash as a second option using: http://www.igniterealtime.org/builds/openfire/docs/latest/documentation/jav… This permits normal xmpp use (with external and emite client) and autologin for xmpp also in kune. Problem: we need to store plain passwords (even with a SASL client I think). See: http://svn.igniterealtime.org/svn/repos/openfire/trunk/src/java/org/jivesof… http://svn.igniterealtime.org/svn/repos/openfire/trunk/src/java/org/jivesof… http://java-monitor.com/forum/showthread.php?t=453 This is not secure: "But hey, management wants encrypted passwords in the database, management gets encrypted passwords in the database. :-)" TODO: study a way to make a compatible secure plain+digest [[AuthProvider]] compatible with our SHA-512 stored pass...
