Hello all, I would strongly agree with Dariuz that it would be great if archiving / Google Scholar exposure were two key priorities. This is important for many of us who want our works to be found and used easily. Also agreed with the idea of an 'OPEN' call going out once a year, where different groups/people can propose special issues that they think are timely and relevant. The editorial team could then choose, each year, how many issues to do based on that year's responses. And if it became a regular thing known to various publics, people could even plan their pitches in advance. I wanted to add that as a co-editor of the most recent special issue, we received a lot of submissions and also a great deal of interest. So I do think it would be a great pity to stop the journal's activities when the community continues to go strong. On this note, as before, happy to help foster things when/where it's useful. - Kat *kat braybrooke | @codekat <http://twitter.com/codekat> | codekat.net <http://codekat.net/>* On Mon, Oct 2, 2017 at 1:54 AM, Mathieu ONeil <[email protected]> wrote:

Hi Angela, George, all

Good idea to put a call out for special issue editors. Editorial team members can work on that, I guess.

Sure, we could have an "OPEN" issue: someone needs to coordinate it, though. Also the timeline is important. Are we aiming for Oct 2018 or April 2019? In which case there will be a gap in the release schedule. Which we will need to deal with somehow.

Or do we decide to publish once a year? I think Dariusz suggested that (amongst other things). Might be more manageable... I guess we can decide on that once we see how the call for eds goes.

So, in the meantime, who will coordinate the "OPEN" (if we decide on that title) issue? I go back to my earlier thought: what if we used some of the "varia" articles for that? Understand if not suitable as may delay publication but could be nice for authors also?

@Peter: what do you think?

cheers

Mathieu

Hello all,

What about a call for a general issue? And/or a call for proposals for future special issue themes?

Makes sense. We could definitely try it.
