hi, good morning -- i have a service announcement, a status report and a small editorial question for you today. :) * service announcement: in preparation for the release of issue#5 we basically overwrote everything on the live site which changed since we made a clone (called "staging"). before doing that, i took care to backport any important changes which occured in the meantime, such as new and updated pages, news items, etc. in case something was lost we have a copy to restore from. the moral of the story is that if there was something small but dear to you on the website, something that you changed in the last months (for instance your password?) then please check if it is still there! * status report: we have asked authors today to make a final "pre-print" review of their article, and the idea is to put the issue on the front page on Wednesday and start to advertise it on Thursday. of course we count and depend on your help in the advertising campaign, but please don't post to lists until we have set up some way of coordinating spam! * editorial question: the authors of one paper asked if we can display their institutional affiliations. we are not sure about this so we decided to ask the opinion of the list. please provide us some guidance! thank you for everything, sorry for a tedious mail, have a nice day! -- maxigas, kiberpunk FA00 8129 13E9 2617 C614 0901 7879 63BC 287E D166 http://research.metatron.ai/ People the switches!

Hi Maxigas, Dariusz, all Re service: nothing to report for me. Perhaps once you have released #5 you can do a report on the benefits/costs of the changes you introduced? Re release: from what you say it sounds like you figured how to change the front page (with tags) but let us know if any issues. You may want to prepare a sentence or two summarising the issue together with the TOC for the release announcement. I can post to my usual lists (AIR, CITASA, Fibreculture etc), Johan to his (STS...?) and others wherever, unless you would rather do it so please let us know what your preference is. Btw some lists have a cooling-off period before new arrivals can post. Hi Maxigas, Dariusz, all
Re service: nothing to report for me. Perhaps once you have released #5 you can do a report on the benefits/costs of the changes you introduced?
i shall update the advice page with the conclusions.
Re release: from what you say it sounds like you figured how to change the front page (with tags) but let us know if any issues. You may want to prepare a sentence or two summarising the issue together with the TOC for the release announcement. I
yes i think we got it.

sounds good, will write a 'press release' and put it here to spread. i am not sure yet if i want to do sth like this: https://pad.puscii.nl/p/issue5promo but i'd like to have a 'press list' for jopp with a list of relevant media.
Re affiliation: many people have info such as below on their articles: {snip}
So, not sure what the problem is?
hm, from the examples it is clear: the problem is the lack of integration into the metadata and the consistency of the implementation. -- maxigas, kiberpunk FA00 8129 13E9 2617 C614 0901 7879 63BC 287E D166 http://research.metatron.ai/ People the switches!
Hi maxigas For some, affiliation is important, so it would be good for authors to have the option. It is important for me. So if possible, please add affiliation (at end?). You can use the affiliation description below, Thanks, Adrian Adrian Smith Professor of Technology & Society SPRU (Science Policy Research Unit) University of Sussex @smithadrianpaul On 28 Oct 2014, at 01:48, "maxigas" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: hi, good morning -- i have a service announcement, a status report and a small editorial question for you today. _______________________________________________ JoPP-Public mailing list [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> https://lists.ourproject.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/jopp-public
