Visual operation in Info mode
Hi, "motion state" is handy however when a mode is in motion state I lose the ability to select text which was the reason of my following code: (eval-after-load 'info '(progn (evil-define-key 'motion Info-mode-map "v" 'evil-visual-char))) But then the info mode would end up in normal state which is not what I wanted, is there any way to solve this? Thanks, York

Thanks for the fix but it appears that "Info mode" is now ended in the Normal State not the Motion State. York On Tue, Aug 16, 2011 at 3:43 PM, Vegard Øye <[email protected]> wrote: On 2011-08-15 21:56 +0200, York Zhao wrote:

Huh? I get Motion state -> Visual state -> Motion state when I press "v ESC" in Info mode. Can you reproduce in "make emacs"? -- Vegard
Hi Vegard, I know the real problem now. Yes the Info mode starts in Motion State and changes to Visual State when hit 'v', it changs back to Motion State when hit 'Esc', however, if hitting the 'v' again instead of hittingt 'Esc' to exit Visual State you will end up in Normal State not Motion State anymore. Thanks for the clarification, I forgot about those cases. Should be fixed in commit 0e4be6c. -- Vegard
Works beautifully now. Thanks. York On Tue, Aug 16, 2011 at 5:46 PM, Vegard Øye <[email protected]> wrote: On 2011-08-16 23:18 +0200, York Zhao wrote:

Here's another one that would be nice to have in motion state: (define-key evil-motion-state-map "\C-w" 'evil-window-map) As it is, I cannot change windows when in motion state.

In fact, I often want to have the window-commands even in Emacs state, because my fingers tap C-w when I want to switch windows without asking me ...

Added in commit c608298. All "C-w" window bindings are now available in Motion state, and can be enabled in Emacs state as well with the `evil-want-C-w-in-emacs-state' customization variable. -- Vegard
