Thanks for applying my patches however there is a problem in your changes toward "C-r", "C-r REGISTER" no long work if REGISTER is `"' which means pasting from non register (or the special register `"').

Thanks for the patches. I applied them in commits d5350f1, cdf4e20

and e542281, along with some further adjustments ("C-r" displays a

symbol in the buffer while reading a register).
