Your presence, solidarity messages, and thoughtful contributions made the gathering deeply meaningful for all of us. Our friends in Rojava were moved by the solidarity. At a moment when universities in Rojava are struggling to preserve their institutional autonomy, multilingual education, women’s participation at all levels, and democratic educational structures, it was incredibly moving to witness scholars, educators, students, and organizers from so many different places come together in solidarity. Your contributions helped affirm that these struggles are not isolated, and that there is a growing international community committed to supporting autonomous, democratic education in Rojava. We are especially grateful to everyone who spoke, shared updates and resources, helped with outreach, and participated in the discussion on how to strengthen transnational academic solidarity moving forward. This network is only beginning to take shape, and your engagement has already given it life, direction, and hope. An email group has been set up that will now serve as the primary communication space for the Global Scholars’ Network for Rojava Universities. Future meeting announcements, events, updates, statements, and collaborative initiatives will be shared through this list. Please email below to sign up if you are not already. We also wanted to announce that the network’s upcoming general meeting will take place on June 2. The Zoom link and details are below. If you have questions, suggestions, materials to share, or would like to become more involved in the network’s activities, please feel free to reach out to us at: [email protected] With gratitude and solidarity, Global Scholars’ Network for Rojava Universities General Meeting Details: Time: Jun 2, 2026 12:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada) Join Zoom Meeting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85615739184?pwd=VLTCI8w5YZJzb1cbSTjoHlp5RUrPxa.1 Meeting ID: 856 1573 9184 Passcode: 480949
