Join us in conversation with three amazing Buddhist/Mindfulness practitioners who are innovating and actively transforming education - they share how Buddhist /Mindful ethical foundations of love, compassion and interconnection are being universally adopted into the present day learning centers of tomorrow. Bhante Bhikkhu Buddharakkhita (Bhante B., Uganda), Lobsang Phuntsok (Genla, India) and Brother Chan Phap Dung (Br Phap Dung, USA) join across 3 continents to share how humane-based education is being used to grow resilience, creativity and joy in the face of our ecological crisis.

Subject: GJT: Global South Ecosocial Energy Manifesto launch this Friday Date: Tue, 7 Feb 2023 11:27:46 -0500 From: John Feffer <johnfeffer@gmail.com> To: John Feffer <johnfeffer@gmail.com>
Dear advisory committee members:
Together with the Ecosocial and Intercultural Pact of the South, we'll be launching a new manifesto this Friday, February 10 at 9 am (EST).
The “Manifesto for an Ecosocial Energy Transition from the Peoples of the South” is the work of groups and individuals from across the Global South.
The central online launch event will feature several speakers: Maristella Svampa of the Ecosocial Pact (Argentina), Trusha Reddy of WoMin (South Africa), and Ashish Kothari of Kalpavriksh (India). The moderator will be Liliana Buitrago of the Ecosocial Pact (Venezuela).
Here is the link to register for the event.
Organizational endorsers of the manifesto include the Ecosocial and Intercultural Pact of the South, Greenpeace, Focus on the Global South, War on Want, Global Justice Now, Third World Network, WoMin, Peoples Response Network, Health of Mother Earth Foundation, Global Tapestry of Alternatives, Censat Agua Viva - Amigos de la Tierra Colombia, Espacioenoff, Extinction Rebellion Medellín, Seminario permanente Re-Evolución de la Salud, Grupo Socioambiental Lotos, ACTRICES ARGENTINAS, Friends of the Earth Malaysia, and Consumers Association of Penang.
Here is a link to the manifesto. We will be publishing it in several venues on Friday.
You can see short videos about the manifesto from advisory committee members Shalmali Guttal, Kavita Naidu, and Nnimmo Bassey.
I'll be back in touch shortly with updates on other work. But I also want to highlight an important new report:
Achieving Zero Emissions with More Mobility and Less Mining from the Climate and Community Project and lead author Thea Riofrancos.
I hope you can join us on Friday.
all the best,
John
