Dear Reader,

After studying very many wisdom traditions, Joseph Campbell crafted ‘The Hero’s Journey’ - a process of going on an adventure and returning home transformed.  We use the word hero with gender neutrality. In that, the hero resists ‘The Call’ three times, before saying yes and taking the leap? What number of resistance are you at?

Here’s some cheer from us to leap and come for the adventure, that is Earth Shastra 2023. In the first application round, we have received an amazing response and we are closing in on our cohort of 30. The sixth edition of this immersive leadership journey of Youth Alliance shall happen in the Kumaon region of  Uttarakhand from June 3rd to June 11th, 2023.

Imagine listening to birdsong and entering into a felt conversation with nature

Imagine feeling inspired to offer your gifts into a cause worthwhile

Imagine being relaxed and heal from the wounds of your life’s journey

Imagine making sense of the breaking down world and knowing exactly what your role might be

Imagine living as a community where life-long friendships emerge

Imagine listening to yourself with clarity

Imagine being at Earth Shastra.

Read on, what alumni of Earth Shastra have to say about their experience:

"If you want to find yourself in others, understand the meaning of community, and live an alternative life of satisfaction, come for Earth Shastra!"
- Ishika Srivastava, Earth Shastra 2019

“After Earth Shastra, I feel the sense that I am not alone in this (eco)system, there’s a labyrinth of connections that are there to hold me, nurture me, guide me, host me,

party together, brood together, unlearn-learn together.”

- Saranya Acharya, Cbalance, Earth Shastra 2022

“Coming from a biology background (engineering) and from a place of high ecological awareness, the program helped me understand the need of a human element and

how to work with it with the help of appropriate technology”

- Richard A. Gomes, Workbench Projects Pvt. Ltd, Earth Shastra 2018

Still confused about financial contribution part? Earth Shastra is a community supported program with lot of investment made in 9 day in the 30 participants that gather. Knowing the culture of money, we have been bold to experiment with a Trust based Sliding Scale Contribution Model. We invite you to pay between subsidised 15000 INR (covers only food, stay, travel) and full cost covered 40000 INR (covers facilitation, outreach, mentor/team travel and logistics). Listen to what alumni have to say about it:

Final Application Deadline: May 1st, 2023
