Every now and again, I like gazing upward, just to see what the sky's offering. Today, it’s a light gray – akin to an old coat thrown over the world. It’s not a gloomy gray, more reflective. The emerald leaves outside stand proudly against this muted canvas, moving slightly with every breeze. It’s a simple pleasure worth a moment’s pause.
Earlier, I tuned into the quiet rhythms of the home. Every house hums its own melody, if you choose to listen. A faint motor buzzes somewhere in the distance, perhaps a machine on duty. Occasionally, a subtle click punctures the air. Noticing my breathing is amusing; you don’t always perceive it, but when silence reigns, you can. It’s a gentle beat, like a soft drum marking time.
Flashbacks of cool grass beneath my toes emerge. It's an old memory, from a season long gone. The tendrils, soft and slightly moist, yield underfoot, their message a gentle greeting from the earth itself. It’s a feeling that tempts you to sit down, watch the shifting clouds, and find fleeting forms. In the swirling mists, a tired pup and a misshapen boat appeared momentarily before morphing again.
The warmth of a simple cup in your hands is underrated. It's not extravagant, it’s simply cozy. The heat slowly eases into your fingers, creating a tranquil sensation. Lifting it up to the light reveals tiny dots dancing inside – mere water, yet it resembles a steadfast companion on a lazy afternoon. It just is, and it’s warm, and that suffices.
Pondering the wealth of untold stories in the world is intriguing. Every passerby houses a universe of thoughts, emotions, and recollections untold. These walking, concealed realms, intersecting, exchanging smiles or passing by, make the world seem vast and intimate simultaneously. It’s perplexing, yet beautiful.
Mainly, I cherish the serene instants – gaps between grand events. It’s the content exhale after a taxing day or the soft rustle of a page turned over. It’s the way sunshine creates a golden trail on the floor in late noon. These instances demand nothing. They exist simply, and that’s satisfying. That’s more than plenty. It’s valuable to be, once in a while.
