If you have a CD drive in that machine, but it can't be configured to
boot the CD, you may be able to use the software mentioned on this wiki
page:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SmartBootManagerHowto
Where it says "Ubuntu CD", substitute "BDI CD".
I have not personally used this method for installing Linux.
